The Puerto Rico Primary Health Association (ASPPR) is a non-profit organization that serves as liaison, representation and supports for 21 Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Puerto Rico that provide excellent quality health care services to the underserved population in the island. Our mission is to agglutinate the primary health professional community to strengthen, in an integrated manner, the access and quality of life of the populations served by the 330 Community Health Centers. In 2021, the 330 Community Health Centers served 413,219 patients across 68 municipalities, generating 4,545 direct full-time jobs, and many more indirect jobs. We are also actively involved in the discussion of public health policy and awareness about the importance of community-based primary health care as an option to improve the health status of the Puerto Rican population.
